Energy Efficiency Resources

Check out some resources on energy efficiency and conservation made especially for students in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Energy Efficiency Resources

In 2015, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador launched a one-year pilot project entitled Hotshots to raise awareness about energy efficiency and conservation among students in Newfoundland and Labrador. The project included delivering presentations in over 50 schools through the province, launching a new contest for grades 7-12, and developing new, curriculum-based resources for teachers. The initiative concluded on June 21, 2015 and a project summary outlining the achieved results has since been released.

The resources that were developed as part of the HotShots initiative are available online. They comprise a series of colourful fact sheets that answer the following questions:

  • Where does energy come from in Newfoundland and Labrador?
  • How do we use energy?
  • What are the benefits of saving energy?
  • How can you conserve energy?
  • How can you be more energy efficient?

There are two distinct packages, each of which is available for download in English and French:
